From a press release:
“Cynthia Bar and Bistro is proud to announce the launch of weekday breakfast service in partnership with beloved H Street baker Catherine Cotay of The Bakers’ Lounge. Beginning Thursday, June 26, guests can enjoy Cotay’s signature British-inspired baked goods and savory selections at Cynthia from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Tuesday through Friday—with plans for weekend brunch on the horizon.
“We’re keeping it in the neighborhood,” says Cynthia owner Phil Coppage. “Catherine has been a leader in this community, and I’m proud to call her not just a great friend, but now a business partner. Collaborations like this are what make H Street so special.”
Cotay, a UK native and the talent behind The Bakers’ Lounge, brings her unique blend of comforting classics and refined pastries to Cynthia’s cozy bistro setting. The breakfast menu includes savory quiches (vegetable and Lorraine), hearty Shepherd’s Pie, traditional pasties, and the ever-popular Scotch egg. On the sweeter side, guests can look forward to seasonal fruit tarts (apple, cherry, lemon, caramel, raspberry, blueberry), pound cakes (lemon, marble, sweet potato), and a rotating selection of freshly baked scones, croissants, and more.
“I’ve always believed in the power of local businesses supporting one another,” said Cotay. “Phil and the Cynthia team have created something really special, and I’m thrilled to be part of it. I can’t wait to share my food with a new wave of morning regulars on H Street.”
To complement Cotay’s offerings, Cynthia will also serve fresh coffee, espresso drinks, a selection of teas, and house-made juices. Beginning at 11 a.m., guests can enjoy brunch-friendly cocktails like Mimosas, Sangrias, Bloody Marys, and Espresso Martinis, alongside the full bar menu.
Tables are first-come, first reserved; free Wi-Fi; all breakfast items and non-alcoholic beverages available to-go.”
